Blake Lively is trying everything not to be bitter about being left off the guest list at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding but she still feels consumed by heartache and regret, an insider tells Star.
On Thursday, July 2, TMZ published photos of the Simple Favor star, 38, and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, cheering on their 6-year-old daughter Betty at a horse show in Lake Placid, New York, while the bride and groom, both 36, got ready to exchange vows before their family and friends at Manhattan’s Madison Square Garden.
“Blake did her best to hold her head high through this and act as though it was just any other weekend but it’s been absolutely devastating for her because it’s forced her to accept that this chapter of her life really is over,” says the insider.
Still, “there was all this talk that she might get an invite and of course she got her hopes up because she’d give anything to fix this, but obviously that didn’t happen,” the insider notes. “Even if Taylor had invited her, it would have been so awkward because everyone in her world has turned their backs on Blake too.”
“Seeing Gigi, Cara and all the people she used to be so close to celebrating together without her was a brutal reminder of how much has changed,” says the inside, adding that Reynolds, 49, has been “doing everything he can” to keep Lively’s spirits lifted amid the snub. “But it’s just very, very hard, especially because there’s this underlying fear that this is going to haunt her forever.”
The “So High School” singer “had so many A-list stars at her wedding, it’s hard not to feel like all of Hollywood is Team Taylor,” the insider admits. “It really hammered it home for her just how much of an outsider [Blake] is now.”
