Blake Lively may be busy with other plans this Fourth of July weekend.
On Thursday, July 2 — as many celebrities arrived in New York City to head to Madison Square Garden for what is believed to be Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s rehearsal dinner — TMZ published photos of the It Ends With Us star, 38, and husband Ryan Reynolds in Upstate New York.
Lively, who was once extremely close with the Life of a Showgirl artist, 36, was with her 49-year-old husband in Lake Placid as they watched their daughter Betty, 6, compete in a horse show.
Swift notably confirmed Betty’s name publicly with her song “Betty” from her eighth studio album, Folklore.
While it’s still unclear whether or not Lively and Reynolds will attend Swift and Kelce’s special day at The Garden, their outing at a local farm in Lake Placid is about four-and-a-half hours and 280 miles from where the celebrations are taking place.
Fans have wondered if the Gossip Girl alum was invited to the “Cruel Summer” singer’s ceremony, since their friendship seemingly became strained amid Lively’s It Ends With Us legal battle.
In January, the A Simple Favor star and the 14-time Grammy Award winner’s private text messages were exposed in court documents obtained by Star.

At one point, the Blake Brown founder seemingly referred to Swift and her husband Reynolds as her “dragons” in a text to her It Ends With Us costar and director Justin Baldoni.
“Taylor was Blake’s very best friend before this nightmare engulfed their world,” a source told Star in May. “It remains to be seen if she’ll be inviting Blake and Ryan to her wedding, but regardless of that, they hope that as time passes things will steadily soften and in the not-too-distant future it’ll all be water under the bridge.”
Lively’s legal battle began in December 2024, but the case was settled on May 4, with the parties opting not to go to trial.
While about 100 of Kelce and Swift’s nearest and dearest are expected tonight at The Garden, a lavish, extravagant celebration with approximately 1,000 people is reportedly planned for Friday, July 3.
A permit — for a “Special Event at MSG” — obtained by the Associated Press said that festivities will start at 5 p.m. on Friday and go until the early hours of Saturday morning, closing several blocks in Manhattan.
