According to a report published Monday, August 31, by Rob Shuter‘s Naughty But Nice Substack, insiders claim tension between the Sussexes and the Beckhams has quietly simmered for years and could resurface now that Meghan, 45, and Prince Harry have relocated to the U.K.
Per the report, the two families were once close — Victoria, 52, and David Beckham attended Harry, 41, and Meghan’s 2018 wedding, and David, 51, shared a longtime friendship with Harry. But the bond reportedly fractured after Meghan suspected private information was being leaked to the press and the Beckhams were blamed, with Harry confronting David directly.

“That was the moment Victoria was done,” a London source told Naughty But Nice. “She believed Meghan questioned their loyalty and embarrassed David. Victoria can forgive plenty. Disloyalty isn’t one of them.”
According to the outlet, now that Meghan is back on Victoria’s home turf, sources warn she shouldn’t underestimate the Beckham name. “The U.K. may not be big enough for Meghan and Victoria,” the source told Shuter. “If London society is choosing tables, Victoria wins. The Beckhams have fashion, football, celebrities, billionaires, media and royalty. Meghan cannot compete with decades of those relationships.”

Per the report, Victoria doesn’t need to go on the offensive to win any perceived standoff. “Victoria doesn’t need to attack Meghan,” the source told Naughty But Nice. “She has something much more powerful: relationships. People know where they stand with the Beckhams, and nobody wants to find themselves on the wrong side of Victoria.”

As Star previously reported, Meghan and Harry have been proactive about protecting their marriage amid the pressures of their move from Montecito, California, to England. The pair have also enrolled children Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, in British schools this fall.
With Harry’s long-standing tension with Prince William already well documented, Meghan may now be facing a new kind of rivalry — one playing out not in the palace, but across London’s most exclusive dinner tables.
