Carrie Underwood fans were surprised to learn that the singer knows how to crochet. But they were equally surprised to get a glimpse into Underwood’s canning pantry.
“Finally got my mixed granny square curtains up to hide the HVAC doors,” Underwood, 43, shared via Instagram on Tuesday, July 7. “My eyes need to get used to them there…I might have reached my ‘granny chic’ threshold. I don’t think I knew how “granny” was too “granny” until now. We’ll see if I leave them up or take them down, join them and make a throw.”
The photos of her handmade throw, which looked straight off the set of That ’70s Show, were overshadowed by the sheer amount of canned and jarred products in the American Idol alum’s pantry.
“I am in disbelief of all the canned goods- do you actually eat that?? It looks like enough canned food to feed a small army! We don’t really do canning where I live so this is just so foreign to me. I am so fascinated I need to know more!” one follower wrote.
Another added, “Given that those ‘curtains’ are hung up in a giant pantry dedicated solely to jarring, I’d say ‘granny’ suits that space. Looks like you’ve got a few open spots, you better get to work. ”
“I think it blends nicely with the jars and their beautiful array of colors. well done – it’s beautiful!!” a third noted.

The “granny chic” update comes just one day after the “Before He Cheats” singer was slammer for her 4th of July performance.
Per In Touch, Underwood was brutally mocked online after her performance at TPC Deere Run on Saturday, July 4.
Many critics claimed the singer sounded “terrible,” with one claiming, “She’s not even fit to sing karaoke.”
