A new book is making some bombshell allegations about Peter Weber‘s season of The Bachelor.
In the tell-all titled The Love Producer, former Bachelor producer Julie LaPlaca details falling in love with Weber, 34, while working as his lead producer on season 24 of the ABC reality dating show, according to a Tuesday, July 7 report in Entertainment Weekly. In the memoir, LaPlaca, 41, alleges she and the airline pilot hooked up in February 2020 after his split from winner Hannah Ann Sluss.
Recalling the moment everything “shifted,” LaPlaca reveals that her relationship with Weber went to the next level when she and another producer named Brittany went to Weber’s house — where he lived with his parents — to watch the show and help him prepare for the “Women Tell All” special, per the outlet.
“It felt like that moment in high school when… your hands slowly find their way to each other,” LaPlaca writes. “I couldn’t ignore the electric tingle that pulsated through every nerve of my body.”
The producers ended up staying the night, according to LaPlaca, after Weber’s mom offered to let them sleep in her son Jack’s room because they had been drinking.
“As I was about to turn into Jack’s room, where Brittany was already asleep, Peter came to the doorway. ‘Jules, come here,’ he said,” LaPlaca writes, according to EW. “I walked into his room, not realizing what was about to happen. He shut the door behind me. We sat on the edge of his bed. ‘We don’t have to — this is bad,’ he said. ‘It’s up to you.'”
LaPlaca likened the night she spent with Weber to being in the show’s “fantasy suite,” the infamous overnight dates featured in later episodes of the Bachelor franchise, per the outlet.

The alleged hookup came amid Weber’s complicated love life across the Bachelor Nation universe. Contestant Hannah Brown later revealed in her 2021 memoir that she and Weber had a one-night stand around the same time, per Us Weekly. It was not long after that Weber also ended his engagement to Sluss, before briefly rekindling things with runner-up Madison Prewett.
Per EW, LaPlaca says her and Weber’s relationship continued behind the scenes, with the pair having another “fantasy suite” evening, but the high of that moment was ruined when just days later, he was spotted with Kelley Flanagan, his fifth-place contestant, in Chicago.
“I was crushed. Humiliated, embarrassed, and heartbroken,” LaPlaca writes, according to the outlet. “I was so mad at myself for having been so dumb. How could I have been played by someone I knew better than arguably anybody else?”
While Weber, who dated Flanagan on and off before ending things officially in May 2023, has stayed largely silent about LaPlaca’s claims, he broke his silence last month, after former Bachelor Nick Viall called out ex-host Chris Harrison, 54, for writing the forward to the producer’s memoir on The Viall Files podcast.
“I’ve moved on from this period of my life, and I’m ultimately responsible for my choices. What I’ll say is this: I asked Julie on multiple occasions to please keep private, intimate details private. This wasn’t about a TV show anymore,” Weber wrote on Instagram.
He continued, “Curious though if she mentions in the book about my last one-on-one with Hannah Ann, and how… Julie tells me, ‘You will look like the biggest idiot in the world to America if you give her your rose.’ I find it wrong to mess with a person’s headspace like that and then go on to write a book about them. The fact that Chris endorsed this makes me sick.”
The Love Producer is out now, available everywhere books are sold.
