Victoria Beckham Reportedly ‘Livid’ Over Fellow Spice Girl’s Parenting Comments Amid Family Drama

Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm may have just torpedoed a potential Spice Girls reunion tour, Rob Shuter reported in his Naughty But Nice Substack on Thursday, January 29.

The singer, 52, told the Sunday Times in an interview published on Saturday, January 24 that she made a “conscious decision” to keep daughter Scarlet, 16, out of the public eye.

“I have friends who handle it differently, each to their own, no judgment at all,” she added. “But for me, probably because of my experiences with fame, I didn’t feel comfortable making that decision for her.”

Chisholm’s comments — which came days after Brooklyn Beckham released a bombshell statement on Instagram accusing his parents, Victoria and David Beckham, of controlling “narratives in the press about our family” — infuriated her bandmate, Shuter reported.

“What Mel said may be true, but it absolutely did not need to be said right now,” one insider told Shuter, while another source revealed that “Victoria took it as judgment — public judgment — during one of the most painful moments of her life. She is livid.”

And while Chisolm’s “intentions weren’t malicious,” a second source added, Victoria’s reaction was “explosive.”

“She feels Mel chose honesty over loyalty,” another insider revealed. “And that’s not something Victoria lets go of easily.”

The fashion designer, 51, “holds grudges,” the second insider told Shuter. “This didn’t just hurt her personally — it embarrassed her professionally.”

Though Victoria and Chisolm, along with fellow Spice Girls Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell all posted a shot of their get-together at Bunton’s 50th birthday on Instagram on January 25, Shuter reported that any plans to reunite on stage are likely to be scrapped.

Victoria was “hesitant” anyway, the first source told Shuter, and “this just made everything worse.”
