Jim Curtis has girlfriend Jennifer Aniston to thank for helping improve his relationship with son Aidan, a source tells Star.
The wellness coach and author, 50, shares the college freshman with ex-wife Rachel Napolitano and previously wrote in his 2017 book, The Stimuli Experience, that he wishes they had a better relationship.
“Jennifer had a very contentious relationship with her mother [Nancy Dow] at one point, not that Jim’s situation with his son compared, but it does give her a very interesting perspective on things when it comes to parent-child relationships,” explains the source.

In 2022, the Morning Show star, 57, told Allure that she had “forgiven” her estranged mom, who famously detailed their difficult relationship in her 1999 memoir From Mother and Daughter to Friends and who died in 2016 at age 79 after a long illness.
“It’s toxic to have that resentment, that anger,” she noted.
Aniston is “always very good at seeing the other side of things and sort of translating it,” the source adds. “She would never take credit for Jim and his son being in this really great place, but the timing does point to her positive influence.”

During a recent appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, Curtis shared that he’s “so proud” of Aidan and called him “an amazing kid.”
“Since he’s started dating Jennifer, he’s become even more open-hearted and more generous and that’s had a trickle down effect on every relationship,” notes the source. “The one that matters the most to him, of course, is the one with his son, so he’s elated that things are in a great place and very appreciative for all of Jennifer’s support.”
The Emmy-winning actress has “even offered to help his son get work in the business if he’s got any interest in going down that path,” the source reveals. “She treats him like family. It’s very sweet and it’s only made Jim love her more.”
