Jim Curtis Opens Up About Falling in Love With Jennifer Aniston: ‘More Organic, Less Needy’

Jim Curtis is opening about about his romance with Jennifer Aniston.

The wellness expert and hypnotherapist, 50, explained the couple’s low-key beginnings in an interview with the Sunday Times Magazine published Saturday, September 12, revealing there was “a many-month friendship first” before things turned romantic.

“The drive was more natural, more organic, less needy,” Curtis explained.

Curtis admitted his approach to relationships had changed by the time he connected with the Friends star, 57, after previously putting pressure on himself to find a partner.

“In the past I’ve felt this idea of, ‘I need you to be in love with me,'” he reflected, adding that when Aniston came into his life, he wasn’t “searching for love anymore.”

Their eventual romance had similarly understated beginnings. Aniston and Curtis bonded over their shared interest in wellness after being introduced through mutual friends, Curtis revealed during a January 26 appearance on Today.

“And what do I feel now?” he added. “I feel real joy, real presence, real calmness, real partnership.” He talked about he now splits his time between New York City and The Morning Show actress’ L.A. home, where he feeds her dogs every morning and makes breakfast, followed by meditation.

“We take real responsibility to go within and understand and soothe ourselves. So we meditate together,” Curtis told the outlet. “I meditate and I’ll say things like ‘I’m divinely guided’, meaning I don’t have to worry, it’s all working out.”

Curtis has become increasingly open about his relationship with the actress, but the attention surrounding the couple hasn’t always been positive.

On September 3, Page Six reported that some members of Aniston’s inner circle “worry he could be an opportunist,” with questions raised about whether the increased attention surrounding their romance could benefit his career.

However, a source previously told Star that the speculation had left Aniston deeply upset — particularly at the suggestion that the concerns could be coming from people close to her.

“Jen usually pays no attention to negative chatter, but this narrative about some of her friends being suspicious of Jim has not gone unnoticed by her,” the source said. “It’s very upsetting.”

According to the insider, Aniston was particularly bothered by the possibility that friends could be supportive of Curtis to her face while expressing doubts elsewhere.

“She counts on her friends being loyal and transparent,” the source explained, adding that “the idea that some of them could be saying one thing to her face about Jim and another behind her back is pretty disturbing.”

The source added that while Aniston isn’t about to make accusations without proof, anyone who turns out to be “anti-Jim” could find themselves on the outside of her famously tight-knit circle.
