The trailer for Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, a highly anticipated biopic about Bruce Springsteen, is here — and fans are already reacting to Jeremy Allen White’s portrayal of The Boss.
Based on Warren Zanes’ 2023 book Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska, the film covers Springsteen’s life while recording the classic 1982 album. Nebraska, Springsteen’s sixth album, followed 1980’s wildly successful The River and was recorded using a four-track recorder at his home in Colts Neck, New Jersey.
The video kicks off with White — rocking Springsteen’s signature leather jacket — being referred to as a “handsome devil rock star” by a car salesman, who informs the musician that he knows who he is.
“Well, that makes one of us,” White’s Springsteen responds.
One moment features legendary music manager Jon Landau (Jeremy Strong) in a tense discussion with Al Teller (played by David Krumholtz). “This is not about either one of us. This is not about the charts,” Strong’s Landau informs the Columbia record executive. “This is about Bruce Springsteen and these are the songs he wants to work on right now.”
Other moments in the trailer include sparks flying between the musician and his love interest Faye (played by Odessa Young) in Asbury Park and a sweaty performance of “Born to Run”.
Fans quickly took to the comment section to express their thoughts on the trailer.
“Sold. I can already tell Jeremy Allen will get Oscar nominated for this role,” one wrote.
“Heard about this project, shrugged. Then saw this trailer, goosebumps,” another shared.
“I was expecting to hate the look of this, but I got quite emotional watching the trailer. I think this could be an unexpected hit of the year,” a third commented.

In January, Springsteen touched on witnessing his story come to life with the help of the Golden Globe winner, 34. “He’s got an interpretation of me that I think the fans will deeply recognize and he’s just done a great job, so I’ve had a lot of fun,” the “Dancing in the Dark” singer said of White during an appearance on SiriusXM’s E Street Radio. “I’ve had a lot of fun being on the set when I can get there.”
The film also stars Stephen Graham and Gaby Hoffmann as Springsteen’s parents, Douglas and Adele, and Johnny Cannizzaro as E Street Band member Steven Van Zandt.
