During the Tuesday, May 12, episode of The Megyn Kelly Show, the 55-year-old political commentator weighed in on the news that Lively and Baldoni’s legal war has appeared to come to an end — at least for now — and how the actress’ team said the settlement was “a resounding victory.”
Kelly showed a recent podcast episode with Lively’s lead attorney Michael Gottlieb, who said that “this lawsuit has never been principally about money for our client,” adding: “It has been about accountability. It has been about shining a light on this underground smear machine that retaliated against her for raising claims of sexual harassment and retaliation and has harmed so many other people.”
Following the clip of Gottlieb’s interview, Kelly sarcastically said, “No one’s gonna get smeared anymore on the internet because of her.”
“This is a fantasy,” Kelly insisted. “Harassment on the internet was a thing before this case, and it will be a thing after this case. We’re allowed to dislike her. We’re allowed to write terrible things about her when it’s raised in terms of our opinion — you can’t make up facts about somebody that are false, but if we think she’s a terrible, spoiled, mean-girl bully, we’re free to say that.”
“We do think that,” Kelly said, pointing to interviews that Ryan Reynolds‘ wife, 38, has done in the past. One interview on YouTube is simply titled: “The Blake Lively interview that made me want to quit my job.”
Kelly said that Lively’s legal team is “pretending that she was really just an avenger for others.” However, Kelly added that she feels that the mother of four has “tissue paper-thin skin that led her to bring this lawsuit because she was like, ‘There’s no way anyone could possibly just hate me organically. Justin had to have made it happen.'”

Last week, it was revealed that the legal teams for Lively and Baldoni, 42, reached an agreement before their case was to go to trial in New York City.
According to People, the settlement agreement says that the actress can still pursue legal fees and damages against Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios.
As previously reported, Lively — who worked closely alongside the director and star of the troubled 2024 film — claimed that Baldoni inappropriately improvised on the set of It Ends With Us, making her feel uncomfortable.
The actress sued Baldoni and others, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation, claims that he has denied. Baldoni filed a countersuit against Lively, Reynolds and their publicist for extortion and defamation, but it was dismissed by a judge.
