Mark Consuelos Reveals the Shocking Reason Why He’d ‘Stay in a Loveless Marriage’
Mark Consuelos is willing to make extreme sacrifices for his beloved pup, Lena.
The Live with Kelly and Mark host, 55, told his wife and cohost Kelly Ripa during the Tuesday, August 11, episode of their daytime talk show that he would “stay in a loveless marriage just to make sure I could be with Lena every day.”
“That’s how much I love Lena,” Consuelos added, per People.
Ripa, clearly not bothered by her husband’s admission, teased, “Is that all you’re asking for, is a loveless marriage? Done!”
Consuelos explained that if the pair ever divorced, he would “stay up at night wondering what [Lena] is doing,” or “just wondering if there was some other man petting her.”
The couple — who also share three human children, Michael, 29, Lola, 25, and Joaquin, 23 — adopted Lena in 2021, after she appeared on a segment featuring “Happy Pets.”
“The Consueloses have made a decision to adopt Lena,” Ripa told her then cohost Ryan Seacrest. The Maltese and Shih Tzu mix joined the family’s other rescue pooch, Chewie.
Lena’s brother, Billie, who was also featured in the 2021 segment, was adopted by Live executive producer Michael Gelman.
