Benny Blanco Reveals He Nearly Stabbed His Friend in Home Invasion Scare

Benny Blanco is opening up about a terrifying late-night mix-up that almost turned deadly.

During the Tuesday, May 12, episode of his Friends Keep Secrets podcast, the producer recalled the moment he mistakenly believed an intruder had broken into his home — and grabbed a knife to defend himself.

Blanco — who wed Selena Gomez in September — explained he woke up after hearing strange noises in the house and immediately panicked.

“I tiptoed to the kitchen and got a knife,” he admitted, explaining that he crouched behind furniture preparing to attack if the supposed burglar appeared.

When guest Lil Dicky asked why he didn’t grab a gun instead, Blanco joked that owning one would probably be more dangerous for himself.

“I’d accidentally shoot myself,” he said.

But the story took an even crazier turn when Blanco, 38, realized the “intruder” was actually one of his friends — who had also heard Blanco’s mysterious noise — and also panicked and armed himself with a knife.

According to Blanco, the two unknowingly stalked around the house believing the other person was a burglar before finally realizing what was happening.

The music producer admitted that he was about to attack the other man.

“For some reason, I don’t do it,” he recalls, “and we see each other. And we did not stab each other.”

No word on whether or not Gomez was at home when the incident occurred.
