Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Reportedly ‘Tight’ on Funds After Parting Ways With Netflix
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly “tight” on funds as their living expenses mount.
The couple — who reside in Montecito, California, after stepping down as senior working members of the British royal family — require “at least $6 million a year,” half of which goes towards the family’s private security, according to a new report from Page Six.
Markle, 44, has largely taken on the role of “breadwinner” as she continues to grow her lifestyle brand, As Ever, as Harry’s philanthropic work does not bring in a large income.
The former Suits star has been seen cozying up to female powerhouses like Kris Jenner and Bobbie Brown as she works to diversify her portfolio. Last month, Markle became an investor in OneOff, an AI-powered fashion discovery platform that allows fans to shop her looks, Page Six reported.
Sources told the outlet that dozens of her looks from her recent Australia tour sold out on the platform.
“OneOff surpassed 1-plus million views of outfits on the site in the first three days since Meghan launched her page on the platform,” OneOff CEO Emir Talu told WWD.
Earlier this year, Netflix announced its decision to part ways with Markle’s As Ever, claiming it was “always intended” to be temporary.
“Meghan’s passion for elevating everyday moments in beautiful yet simple ways inspired the creation of the As ever brand, and we are glad to have played a role in bringing that vision to life,” the streamer said in a statement to Variety in March.
