Meghan Markle is looking to expand her empire — and her real estate portfolio.
According to a source, the As Ever founder, 44, is insisting that she and Prince Harry look for a new California base that will help their chances of success in Hollywood.
“Meghan’s decided that being closer to Los Angeles will make life easier,” says Star’s source. “She’s sick of having to lose 4 hours of her day in the car when she has meetings or appointments and the fact that their neighbors continue to trash-talk them doesn’t exactly make her feel welcome.”
The Sussexes bought their $14.65 Montecito mansion in 2020 after stepping down from the royal family, but the exclusive enclave is more of a vacation spot for power players, the source explains. “They leave their home empty most of the year so it’s not like there are many chances to schmooze.”
“She says they’re too cut off from the social scene in Hollywood,” reveals the source. “She wants to be much more tapped in because that’s when the deals really happen.”

Harry, 41, and Meghan have yet to seemingly decide their next move.
“She’d love to get a second place in Brentwood or Bel Air like a lot of her friends have,” reveals the source. “But the reality is they aren’t in the financial position to run two massive households.”
The former Suits star is willing to compromise, though.
“She’s open to Malibu if Harry still wants the beach life and she’s even saying Calabasas could be a great fit,” adds the source, “not least because they could live in the same neighborhood as Kris Jenner.”
