Brooke Hogan Talks Family Rift After Hulk’s Death: ‘I Don’t Want to Get Into the Mud With the Pigs’

They may have looked like a happy family on their reality show Hogan Knows Best, but, according to Brooke Hogan, that was anything but the truth.

Hulk Hogan and ex-wife Linda Hogan‘s eldest child, 38, opened up about her fractured family in a new interview with Us Weekly, after previously revealing that she’s estranged from her brother Nick Hogan, 36, and mother, 67. She also wasn’t speaking with her late father at the time of his death.

Hulk died at age 71 on July 24, 2025 after going into cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida; Brooke didn’t attend his funeral and asked to be removed from her will.

“I miss individual people. I desperately miss my dad. Those are two completely different things. When I think about the family unit itself, I remember endless tension. Scrutiny. Arguments. Pressure to perform,” Brooke shared when asked by the outlet whether she missed her family dynamic. “It was walking on eggshells.”

“There were [also] beautiful moments. There was laughter. There was love. I’m not going to rewrite my childhood and pretend every second was horrible,” she continued. “What I miss is what I always hoped our family could eventually become, not what the dynamic actually was.”

The “About Us” singer explained she’s speaking out now to correct any “false narrative” put out there by “people I don’t have relationships with,” including brother Nick.

“My family’s narrative has always been like, ‘Oh, we’re so happy for Brooke. We’re so proud of Brooke.’ But it’s really hard to see that same stock response when the reality behind closed doors is extremely different,” she explained, after her brother said exactly that in an August 28 interview with TV Insider.

Brooke explained she last spoke with her brother when she asked for a cross Hulk used to wear following his death. Instead, she said she received two cross necklaces she doesn’t ever remember seeing.

“Had our positions been reversed, I know how generous I planned to be with him. That’s what hurts,” she shared. “The belongings aren’t what ruptured the relationship; it was everything surrounding them. Since Dad’s death, my brother has ghosted us while publicly embracing his position as the keeper of Dad’s legacy — all while saying we’re ‘in a great place.’ We don’t even talk.”

In the interview, the Brooke Knows Best alum said she thought it was “embarrassing” for her father “to be carted around in a coffin with makeup on” for his funeral, claiming he used to tell his family, “Just burn me up and throw me in the ocean.”

Brooke also claimed WWE president Nick Khan told her he invited her to the wrestling company’s tributes to Hulk — but did so through Nick, who Brooke said never extended the invitation to her.

If they were to try to find a path forward, Brooke said she needs to see some empathy and “actual respect, not fake praise,” from her brother. She also said her family would also have to start respecting her husband, Steven Oleksy. The couple shares two children, 20-month-old twins Oliver and Molly.

Brooke also briefly touched on her ongoing estrangement from her mother, Linda, who has expressed confusion over their rift publicly.

“The wounded fawn,” Brooke described her mom. “I have one of the most vile text messages I’ve ever seen from a human being that she sent my husband to the point where I’d be embarrassed for her if I actually got to where I had to release it to correct this narrative.”

“I don’t want to get into the mud with the pigs,” she added. “If my mom was honest about how tumultuous our relationship was, if anything, I’d be like, ‘Wow! My mom’s a stand-up person.'”
