Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann‘s son, Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr., has been released from jail and is now living with his mom amid his ongoing sexual assault case.
According to TMZ, the 15-year-old was released within the last several days and is living with the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, 48, who is caring for him full time.
KJ was granted a $200,000 bond on Friday, September 11, ahead of his release, per the outlet, following his September 3 indictment on seven felony charges related to an alleged assault involving a female classmate.
His release comes with significant restrictions. According to court documents obtained by People, KJ must remain at his mother’s home while wearing a GPS monitor and is prohibited from having contact with minors, including the alleged victim. He must also attend school virtually and can only leave home for court appearances and medical appointments, per local outlet WSB-TV.

KJ is also prohibited from using a cell phone or social media, while anyone under 16 is barred from visiting or staying at the home. That means KJ’s younger siblings cannot be there while he is living with Zolciak, a condition that is especially pertinent amid new allegations that KJ assaulted an underage family member in 2023.
KJ continues to deny all allegations and has not been convicted of any wrongdoing.
The release comes as KJ continues to fight the case. On Friday, September 18, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Melynee Leftridge denied his request to close the courtroom for the ongoing proceedings.
According to court docs obtained by Page Six, Leftridge found that “the high legal standard for permitting a closed courtroom was not met by Defendant.” The court did grant KJ additional privacy protections, however, limiting media recording and photography, while his juvenile court records will remain confidential after the judge ordered that the documents “shall be filed under seal.”
Leftridge also declined KJ’s request to prevent prosecutors from citing limited details from his juvenile case during bond considerations. Prosecutors in the case, meanwhile, have filed an emergency motion seeking court approval to conduct forensic interviews with “minor children.”
