Despite settling her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni and his production company, Blake Lively‘s long It Ends With Us nightmare is far from over.
The Gossip Girl alum, 38, is still seeking damages from her costar and director’s production company, Wayfarer Studios, in relation to Baldoni’s $400 million lawsuit against her, which was dismissed last June.
In addition, a separate but related lawsuit involves Baldoni’s former publicist, Jennifer Abel, and her former boss, Stephanie Jones, at Jonesworks PR. After Abel left the firm, texts and emails recovered from her company phone — which Jones said she was legally obligated to hand over in response to a subpoena — became evidence in Lively’s allegations that Baldoni had launched a smear campaign against her in retaliation for her sexual harassment complaints, per Page Six.
Per a May 7 Deadline report, Baldoni, 42, and Lively — as well as her husband, Ryan Reynolds, 49 — may be compelled to give depositions in that case.
“The last thing Blake and Ryan want is to testify,” a source tells Star, “but if they’re called to do so, it goes without saying they’ll respect the judge’s request.”
And while Lively’s request for damages and attorney’s fees — which she is requesting as part of a California law protecting people from retaliatory lawsuits — is still pending, she and Baldoni did not agree to a gag order as part of the settlement, which means they are both allowed to discuss the case publicly, per documents obtained by Star.
“Justin is free to speak on this and tell his side of the story and it’s looking pretty inevitable that he’s going to do that,” a source told Star, “which is obviously a nightmare scenario for Blake because she won’t have any control over what he shares.”
