Britney Spears may have left rehab after just a few weeks, but it appears the 44-year-old has gained some wisdom. Shortly after her attorney Michael A. Goldstein was able to plead down her DUI arrest to a “wet reckless,” the “Toxic” singer appeared to address her March 4 arrest in Ventura, Calif., for the first time. In a now-deleted Instagram pic of a baby snake she’d bought for her sons, Sean, 20, and 19-year-old Jayden, Britney explained, per People, that the reptiles are “symbolic of good health, higher consciousness and pure luck.” Seeming to refer to her arrest and time in rehab, she went on, “I’m so damn thankful to my friends and so many new beautiful people I have met through my spiritual journey… all a blessing in disguise.”
In March, the troubled pop star was stopped for driving erratically and administered a series of field sobriety tests. On May 4, following her voluntary stint in rehab, she was sentenced to 12 months of summary probation, fined $571 and was ordered to attend a three-month DUI program. The Grammy winner also agreed to see a psychologist once a week and a psychiatrist twice a month, and her vehicle is authorized to be searched for drugs and alcohol. “Britney has accepted responsibility for her conduct,” her attorney said at the time, via People. “She has taken significant steps to implement positive change.”

A source tells Star the singer — who was recently spotted eating out at a restaurant, stunning nearby diners — is serious about doing the work. “Britney’s priority is to continue to heal post-rehab and respect the court ruling, which she’s committed to fulfilling 100 percent. She’s taking it one day at a time and doing well for the most part,” says the insider, adding that the former Mouseketeer still has a ways to go. “The reality is she’s still quite fragile.”
