Everyone at The Voice was ordered to keep quiet when Kelly Clarksonreturned to the show following her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock’s death in August, according to The Sun.
The production staff was told “not to bring up Brandon, even if just to say we were sorry,” an insider told the outlet.
“I get it, she was there to work and doesn’t need to be reminded of this tragedy every 5 seconds. It’d be too emotional,” continued the insider, adding that “everyone on the set loves” the pop star, 43, “so they were happy to oblige.”

The mom of two missed about a week of shooting Season 29, during which fellow American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson temporarily stepped in.
“[Brandon’s] passing delayed some crucial parts of the season, like certain tapings and shooting promo but they were able to make up for lost time so ultimately, it ended up getting evened out,” the insider told The U.S. Sun.
When Clarkson returned, the mood was “strictly professional,” the insider added.
Season 29 — which also stars coaches Adam Levine and John Legend — is set to return next spring.
