‘Summer House’ Star West Wilson’s Cousin Charged With Murder of Their Grandmother
Summer House star West Wilson is at the center of yet another scandal.
West’s grandmother, Gayle R. Wilson, was reportedly shot and killed in her home in Carrollton, Missouri, on April 22, TMZ reported on Wednesday, April 29.
Law enforcement officials reported to call for a shooting around 10:30 p.m.
Dakota Sweeney, a first cousin of West’s, was identified as the suspect by his grandfather who allegedly witnessed the murder. Sweeney, 28, was arrested by Carroll County law enforcement officials and charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
According to a report from KMBC, Sweeney and his grandmother “had gotten into a disagreement over Sweeney not helping with chores earlier in the night.”
Court documents obtained by the outlet allege that Sweeney shot the victim “without warning.”
The crime was committed just one day before West, 31, and his castmates filmed the season 10 reunion with Andy Cohen.
As Star previously reported, on March 31 West and costar Amanda Batula confirmed rumors that they were in a secret relationship.
“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity. It was never our intention to purposely hide anything,” the pair shared via Instagram, adding that their romance was “unexpected.”
Batula, 34, announced her divorce from costar Kyle Cooke in January. Meanwhile, Wilson previously dated Betula’s close friend and fellow costar Ciara Miller.
The reunion is scheduled to air on Bravo on May 26.
