Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth‘s friendship seemed unbreakable, a source tells Star, until it wasn’t.
On Friday, July 31, Garth, 54, confirmed reports that Spelling, 53, was leaving their Beverly Hills, 90210 rewatch podcast 90210MG to pursue other projects.
“This is a pretty shocking turn of events and very sad to the folks who know Tori and Jennie,” shares the source. “They were like soul sisters for so many years.”
It didn’t take long for things to turn messy, though.
That same day, a source told Page Six that Garth hadn’t there for Spelling as a friend amid her recent health issues or her 2024 divorce from ex-husband Dean McDermottwhile a second source denied a falling out between the former costars and cohosts.
“Tori and her team are essentially accusing Jennie of being this epic flake who turned her back on her during the tough times,” Star‘s source reveals, “and Jennie’s firing back with some strong comments of her own.”

Having this all play out so publicly has been “incredibly frustrating” for Garth, adds the source.
“She still loves Tori, but she can’t deal with the constant drama and isn’t going to sit around begging or apologizing when she feels like she’s done nothing wrong,” the source explains. “She insists she has been there for Tori and that this type of high school [behavior] is the precise reason why she’s moving on.”
Of course, “there’s every chance that these two will ultimately find a way past the ugliness and put all this behind them,” notes the source. “But for now, they’re both hurt and venting, which is only making things worse.”
