Ryan Gosling Is Tasked With a Mission to Save All Living Things on Earth in ‘Project Hail Mary’
Science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) wakes up on a spaceship light years away from home with no recollection of how he got there. As his memory returns, he begins to understand his mission — he’s to use his scientific knowledge to figure out why a mysterious invasive microorganism is causing the sun to die out, and how to reverse the catastrophe that threatens the survival of all living things on Earth.
Onboard, he discovers an unlikely ally — an E.T.-like creature whose planet is also being threatened.
Based on a novel by Andy Weir, who also wrote 2015’s The Martian, Project Hail Mary is, like its predecessor, a nail-biting doomsday drama, an awe-inspiring sci-fi epic — and a sweet buddy picture.
