Khloé Kardashian may be in the doghouse with PETA, but the organization seems to be barking up the wrong tree.
After the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals — the world’s largest animal rights organization — called out the Kardashian family for gifting their kids puppies for Christmas instead of calling a local shelter for a new furry friend, the Good American founder shared multiple snaps of their new dog to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, December 30.

The mother of two, 41, then shared a link to a Monday, December 29, YouTube video documenting the special moment she gave daughter True, 7, and son Tatum, 3, their gift.
“I don’t know if I’ll ever be over this lol,” she wrote over a clip of the video on her Instagram Story.
In the video, titled “The Newest Addition to Our Family,” the Kardashians star said, “True has been asking for a puppy since her birthday. I have wanted a puppy for so long, and the fact that she wants a black Lab — wants a puppy — I’m so excited!”
As True opened a Christmas box placed on mom Khloé’s lap, she excitedly greeted little Peppermint and said, “Tatum, we got a dog!”
As Star previously reported, sister Kim Kardashian gifted each of her four children a Pomeranian puppy for Christmas, and she was called out by PETA.

“Puppies are not plushies, and it’s a damn shame that Kim missed the chance to be a spokesperson for shelter pups and instead is being rightly slammed on social media for that,” PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk told People on December 28. “Ignoring the homeless animals crisis is inexcusably callous.”
Newkirk encouraged Kim “to call PETA or a local shelter the next time [she] wants to bring an animal into [her] home.”
She also called out Khloé, saying, “[They can] try to make some amends now by sending their kids to volunteer at a local shelter or paying for a local shelter adopt-a-thon or at least one spay day to help stop the growing homeless puppy crisis.”
