Euphoria fans are furious — and they’re not being subtle about it.
On Wednesday, January 14, HBO’s long-awaited Euphoria season 3 trailer dropped, unveiling a five-year time jump and Zendaya’s addict character Rue taking a stab at stability. However, all of that was eclipsed by one reveal: Cassie Howard (played by Sydney Sweeney) seemingly launching an OnlyFans-style career.
In one scene featured in the trailer, Cassie wears a puppy costume while shaking her, er, tail while sitting atop a dog house.
“I work all day. My bride-to-be is spreadeagle on the internet,” deadpans Noah, played by Jacob Elordi, to someone off camera. As the scene shifts to Cassie — still cosplaying as a puppy — sprawled on a mattress while being filmed, she sheepishly replies to Noah as he walks in on her: “I was just making content.”
Fans of the hit drama quickly took to social media and exploded with outrage.
“Degenerate filth,” one X user snapped at Sweeney’s risque scene.
“Can she do anything without taking off her clothes?” another wrote.
A third fumed, “This is sickening. She should’ve declined the role.”

Once a vulnerable, fan-favorite teen trying to escape toxic relationships, Sweeney’s character — many longtime viewers believe — may have been derailed beyond recognition.
The backlash arrives just as HBO finally confirmed Euphoria’s third season will return April 12. With new castmembers, like Danielle Deadwyler, Rosalía, Natasha Lyonne and Eli Roth joining the ensemble, season 3 is shaping up to be the show’s most chaotic reinvention yet.
