When a group of English schoolboys are stranded on a desert island, Ralph (Winston Sawyers) appoints himself their leader and organizes them to maximize their chances of survival and rescue. But his plans soon descend into chaos when the preteen “manosphere” breaks into warring factions, with some even beginning to worship a (literal) false idol.
Part satire, part political allegory, there’s a reason the book has been on high-school reading lists for generations, as its themes continue to resonate.
