Britney Spears Reportedly Living ‘a Very Lonely Life’ Amid Alleged DUI Arrest

Britney Spears’ recent arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence has pushed her back into the spotlight, and she reportedly wants “nothing more than being around friends” at the moment.

“She’s very emotional and regretful this morning,” a source told People in an article published on Friday, March 6. “She lives a very lonely life and it’s not helping her emotionally. She craves connection.”

The source added that “most” of the Crossroads star’s “relationships are short-lived” and “people come in and out of her life.”

“She really struggles with maintaining friendships,” the source explained. “It’s all very sad.”

As Star previously reported, Spears, 44, was arrested in Ventura, California, on Wednesday, March 4.

According to a press release issued Thursday by California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Ryan Ayers, a black BMW 430i driven by Spears “was reported to the CHP’s Ventura Communications Center for driving erratically at a high rate of speed” before she was pulled over.

Spears showed signs of “impairment and submitted to a series of field sobriety tests” before she was arrested for what Ayers said appeared to be “driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol” and later booked.

“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life,” a representative for Spears told Star. “Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”

The rep added, “Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well being.”
