Britney Spears’ DUI arrest on Wednesday, March 4, was a wakeup call to her loved ones.
“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable,” her representative told Star on Thursday, March 5. “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life.”
“Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time,” the rep added, noting that her sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, will be by her side.
“Her boys are going to be spending time with her,” the rep continued. “Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well being.”

As Star previously reported, the “Toxic” singer, 44, was arrested by California Highway Patrol officers for driving under the influence on the night of March 4.
According to TMZ, Spears was booked at around 3 a.m. and released three hours later.
The incident follows months of erratic online behavior for the pop star, who was released from a controversial 13-year conservatorship in 2021.
