Britney Spears Arrested For a DUI in California

Britney Spears has been arrested for driving under the influence.

According to TMZ, the pop superstar, 44, was arrested on the night of Wednesday, March 4, in Ventura, California. Spears was placed in handcuffs and taken into custody where she was later released, Ventura County Sheriff inmate records.

“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life,” a representative for Spears tells Star. “Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”

“Her boys are going to be spending time with her,” adds the rep. “Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well being.”

The “Toxic” singer recently sparked concern with her bizarre social media posts. Last month, Spears looked disheveled while dancing to Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” in a since-deleted Instagram Reel she shared on February 23.

In one of the clips, Spears wore a black skirt with a large rip that exposed part of her backside along with a red crop top that barely covered the black bra she had on underneath. At one point, the Grammy winner flipped off the camera.

“TRICKED YA !!! Y’ALL THOUGHT I WAS GONE !!! BE PRETTY N S**T WITH DRESS !!!” Spears captioned the Reel. “COME ON NOW, MAMMA KNOWS THAT HEART MORE THAN ANY BODY !!!”

The Crossroads star’s alarming behavior in the past few months followed some disturbing claims her ex-husband Kevin Federline made in his memoir, You Think You Know.

In the book, he alleged that the former couple’s sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, woke up one night when they were younger with Spears holding a knife.

“They would awaken sometimes at night to find her standing silently in the doorway, watching them sleep — ‘Oh, you’re awake?’ — with a knife in her hand,” K-Fed, 47, wrote. “Then she’d turn around and pad off without explanation.”

Spears later denied the allegations in a post via X writing, “Trust me, those white lies in that book, they are going straight to the bank and I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here.”
