On Tuesday, July 1, the Chrisley Knows Best star, 56, appeared with his wife, Julie Chrisley, on their daughter Savannah’sUnlocked podcast and revealed that he got into a prison fight with the mastermind behind the 2019 college admissions scandal, William “Rick“ Singer.
Singer was convicted for his role in “Operation Varsity Blues” in January 2023 and sentenced to three and a half years in prison. However, he was moved to a California halfway house in August 2024, according to ABC News.
The reality TV star and Singer, 64, crossed paths while serving time at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Pensacola, Florida. Todd alleged on the podcast that Singer denied ever turning in the parents — including Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin — who were involved in his scheme.
“He was talking smack, saying that, you know, he didn’t wear a wire. He never told on anyone. The Feds set him up. This, that and the other,” Todd recounted.
Todd said he then called Singer out for being dishonest about cooperating with the federal government.
“He came and asked me, he said, ‘Have you started your book?’ And I said, ‘No.’ He said, ‘I’ve started working on mine.’ And I said, ‘Well, I hope that the first chapter introduces you as the biggest snitch in America,'” shared Todd. “I told him about Felicity and… Lori and them, and I said, ‘I don’t want to ever have another conversation with you.’ And so, he turned around and walked out.”
However, things got heated between the two men after Singer allegedly began badmouthing Todd’s daughter Savannah, 27.

“Months later, he was talking s**t about Savannah, ’cause that’s when shit already started pulling to Barbara Walters and exposing everything in the BOP. So he started talking smack,” Todd alleged. “And so I just walked up to him, and I said, ‘I’m gonna say this one more time. I’m already in prison.’ I said, ‘I will rip your head off and s**t down your neck if you talk about my child again.'”
“And I meant what I said, and you know I would have done that,” Todd added. “I was like, ‘I don’t need you to be afraid of me. Just be aware that if my daughter’s name comes out of your mouth again, I will rip your head off and s**t down your neck.”
Following that encounter, Todd said he “never had another problem” with Singer again.
President Donald Trump granted Todd and Julie, 52, full pardons on May 27. The husband-and-wife duo were convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud in 2022. Todd was serving a 12-year sentence, while Julie was serving seven years at Kentucky’s Federal Medical Center Lexington.
