On Wednesday, July 22, the future king of England turned 13, and the Waleses, both 44, posted a sweet video of him playing on the beach, climbing rocks, and boating on Instagram.
In an article published on Tuesday, July 21, in The Telegraph, multiple sources shared insight into George’s personality and life, with one insider calling him “incredibly down to earth,” noting he is “aware of his future.”
The outlet reported that George is “still getting used to the meet-and-greet walkabouts that will be part of his working life stretching ahead” and that he excels in a variety of sports and has an artistic side.

These days, George’s weekends are typically filled with sporting events, socializing with friends, and the occasional royal duty.
On Sunday, July 12, George and his sister Princess Charlotte, 11, attended the Wimbledon men’s singles final in London with their parents.
When it comes to William and Kate’s parenting priorities, a second insider explained that “the biggest thing is that it has to be family first.”
“They will serve the institution, but they will also make sure their children are raised with as much normality as possible,” the insider added.

However, raising the “future future King” is, of course, part of William and Kate’s parenting journey, per The Telegraph, and has involved conversations and Kensington Palace strategy meetings from the beginning.
“The way they have lived their lives – getting the kids outside, spending time together, focusing on the school run – it’s just as strategic as any other part of their public service,” a third source explained. “Preparing their children for the lives they are going to lead, it’s central to their roles – it’s not something that’s on the side.”

Looking to the future, George will be heading to Eton in the fall, the all-boys boarding school his father and uncle Prince Harry attended. There, pupils can use a “brick phone,” but are not allowed smartphones, the outlet revealed.
In December, a source told Star that “George has been getting lessons twice a week with a tutor,” regarding his royal duties “so that he knows every detail of what’s expected once it’s his time.”
Additionally, the source said George has been sitting for “one-on-one” chats with his grandfather, King Charles III, who “loves to tell him all about his ancestors,” as George is “fascinated by history.”
