One day, Prince George will be crowned king — a fate that his parents, Prince William and Princess Kate, have already begun readying him for, a source tells Star.
“They have done their level best to let George have as normal a childhood as possible but it’s time to start the preparations,” says the source. “He’ll be 13 next year, he’s ready.”
Second in line for the throne, “George has been getting lessons twice a week with a tutor,” reveals the source, “so that he knows every detail of what’s expected once it’s his time.”
While “manners have been drilled into all the children from a young age,” the source notes, “there are so many extra details to know as they get older and are officially representing the Crown, so George has been getting all that instruction.”

He’s also been sitting for “one-on-one” chats with his grandfather, King Charles III, who “loves to tell him all about his ancestors,” says the source, adding that the preteen is “fascinated by history” and loves to read about it, “especially since so many of these historical [figures] are related to him.”
George has done such a good job with his royal schooling, the source adds, that he’s now been deemed ready to start taking on official engagements.
Most recently, the future king accompanied his mother, 43, to the annual Festival of Remembrance at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Saturday, November 8, while his father, also 43, was in Brazil for the Earthshot Prize Awards.
“It was a great chance for George to step up,” says the source, “and he took it very seriously.”
