On the Thursday, June 11 episode of Dreyer’s podcast, The Parent Chat, she had a candid chat with baby nurse to the stars, Nanny Connie, about how it takes a village to raise a baby. The Today meteorologist shares sons Calvin, 9, Ollie, 6, and Rusty, 4, with her ex-husbandBrian Fichera.
“I’m a working mom. I went right back to work after my oldest was 3 months old, and I had a nanny, and I had my mom, and I had my mother-in-law, and I built my village,” Dreyer explained.

“I was always so hesitant to talk about my village and my nanny. I felt guilty that I couldn’t do it all myself, and I needed to require other people,” she admitted. “But, I mean, that relationship is so important because it helps you build your village and gives you the time to give to yourself, too.”
The TV personality then recalled a time when one of her sons formed a deeper connection with their nanny.
“I loved my nanny. She was with us from when Calvin was 3 months old. But I remember when Calvin was a baby, so maybe, like, 4 or 5 months, and he would only want her,” she confessed. “And I was home a lot, you know. I work a schedule where I can be home by 11:00 in the morning. I was there to cook dinner, but he preferred her.”
“Stop. Stop judging that,” Connie said. “Be happy that that happens.”
“It would be really devastating if it were the opposite, if every time you walk through that door, they just wanted to latch on to you,” she added. “And you go, ‘Wait a minute, this woman’s been here with my kid all day, and they’re petrified of her.'”
