Prince Harry has officially named his estranged brother Prince William and PrincessKate in a witness statement filed during his lawsuit against Associated Newspapers on Wednesday, January 21.
The 41-year-old father-of-two is one of seven high-profile claimants — including Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley — who have accused the publisher of the Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday of obtaining private information about their lives unlawfully.
According to Harry’s statement, which was released the same day he took the stand in a London court, there were 10 people he was in regular contact with between 1996 and at least 2014, which is the period during which he alleges the offences occurred, per People.
His list included his brother, his sister-in-law, his father King Charles III, and former girlfriend Chelsy Davy, the outlet reported.

The statement went on to describe the close nature of his relationships with William, 43, and Charles, 77, at the time.
Of William, Harry’s statement said, “Due to his position, the press have always been very interested in him. As brothers, we naturally discussed personal aspects of our lives as we trusted each other with the highly sensitive information we shared about our private, family and professional lives.”
“During the Relevant Period, my father and I were in regular contact,” the statement continued, per People. “He was also of great interest to the press due to his position. My private information would have been present on voicemails, containing highly personal, private and sensitive information, left on his landline phone by me, other members of my family and the Royal Household.”
Kate, 44, appeared ninth on Harry’s list and was only mentioned briefly to confirm her title and that he was in regular contact as she was “my brother’s wife.”

Harry, William and Kate were once extremely close, Harry detailed in his memoir, Spare, adding that their relationship began to sour around the time of Harry and Meghan Markle’s 2018 wedding.
In 2020, the Sussexes stepped back from official royal duties and relocated to Montecito, California, where they now live with their children, Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4.
As Star previously reported, Harry had no plans to meet his father during his trip to the U.K. He remains estranged from his brother.
