Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Scrapped Plans to Marry at Historic Venue Before Choosing NYC’s MSG

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may have come close to marrying in Rhode Island before scrapping the idea, according to a new update on the couple’s tightly guarded wedding plans.

TMZ reported on Thursday, June 18 that Swift and Kelce, both 36, planned to exchange vows at Ocean House resort near the singer’s Rhode Island estate. Sources told the outlet the couple had even locked in a date there, June 13, a nod to Swift’s well-known love of the number 13.

Planning reportedly got far enough that a fireworks display had been booked for the reception. Then, in mid-May, the fireworks company was told the event was off and had been shifted to New York. Sources said the couple backed out once word of the location leaked.

The secrecy fits a pattern that the two have been fighting.

The “Last Great American Dynasty” singer and Kelce have kept their wedding details private, and a source previously told Star the caution came after earlier details leaked online.

On Friday, June 5, In Touch reported that Swift and Kelce, both 36, plan to tie the knot at Madison Square Garden over the Fourth of July weekend.

However, new activity at Swift’s Rhode Island home has since stirred speculation that a smaller, more private ceremony could happen before the larger Madison Square Garden party on July 3.

TMZ reported earlier today that there have been plenty of comings and goings at Swift’s Rhode Island mansion, which sits just down the road from Ocean House. The visitors spotted so far have all been women, fueling guesses that it could be a bachelorette party, or perhaps something bigger.

Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs player was spotted in Los Angeles on Wednesday, June 17, enjoying an all-guys night out, per TMZ.
