With one hand protecting her modesty, a nude Miley Cyrus graces the cover of the new issue of Perfect magazine. “Even if I’m wearing nothing, there still feels like a level of power to it,” the 32-year-old told the magazine.
The “Flowers” singer also said she appreciates the power of putting clothes on, revealing that what she wears can change how she feels about herself. Take the glittery fringed mini she wore while performing at the Grammy Awards in February.

“In a moment like the Grammys — where it’s really high intensity, I’m nervous and there’s a lot at stake — I know that that Bob Mackie dress is speaking to the crowd before I even say a word,” she explained. “I definitely use it, almost like a co-star.” (She later purchased the dress for her own collection.)
The Perfect cover brings to mind the former Hannah Montana star’s controversial 2008 Vanity Fair cover shot by famed photographer Annie Liebovitz. Taken when Miley was 15, the semi-nude photo caused major controversy at the time.
“Miley and I looked at fashion photographs together and we discussed the picture in that context before we shot it,” Annie said in her apology afterwards released by Vanity Fair.

In 2023, Miley, who had also apologized for the photo when it came out, had a new perspective. Calling it “brilliant,” she said, “This image of me is a complete opposite of the bubble-gum pop star that I had been known for being.”
