Britney Spears Would ‘Love’ to Make a Lindsay Lohan-Style Comeback: ‘Second Chances Can Happen’

Britney Spears is modeling herself after former fellow wild child Lindsay Lohan as she attempts to rebuild her life from top to bottom, a source tells Star.

“Lindsay is the poster child for turning your life around,” notes the source. “She’s the toast of Hollywood again and getting so much praise and respect, which was almost inconceivable even just a decade ago. It really seemed like there’d be no way back for her.”

As Star previously reported, the Freaky Friday star, 40, was a troubled young adult, in an out of jail and rehab in the late 2000s and often spotted partying with Spears, 44, and Paris Hilton.

“When you look at the state of things in Britney’s life these days, it’s safe to say a lot of people are counting her out too, and she knows it,” the source reveals.

In March, the “Toxic” singer was arrested for driving under the influence in Ventura, California. She voluntarily checked herself into a rehab, pleaded guilty to a “wet reckless” charge and was ordered to attend a three-month DUI program. She is also on probation for a year and has agreed to see a psychologist once a week and a psychiatrist twice a month.

Lohan’s comeback isn’t just a “comfort” to Spears, it’s also given her “hope that second chances can happen,” adds Star‘s source.

“She sees her as an inspiration and there’s no doubt that she’d love to follow in her footsteps,” the source reveals. “Lindsay survived years of chaos and self-destruction and came out the other side.”

In 2022, the actress wed financier Bader Shammas and a year later, they welcomed their first child together, son Luai, now 2. She’s also currently in the midst of a career resurgence.

“She’s built this whole new life and that is something Britney dreams about all the time,” says the source. “Even if she’s living in a bit of a bubble of denial sometimes, there are moments when she knows she wants more than the life she has now.”
