Matthew Perry’s Family Believes ‘Lives’ Will Be ‘Saved’ Amid Ketamine Queen’s Prison Sentencing
Jasveen Sangha, sentenced 15 years for Matthew Perry’s 2023 ketamine overdose death, apologizes and accepts responsibility as his family finds relief in the verdict.
Sentenced on April 8 to 15 years in a federal prison for her role in the 2023 fatal overdose of Matthew Perry, Jasveen Sangha says she’s a changed person. “I take full responsibility for my actions and the role I played in the events that led to this tragedy,” the so-called “Ketamine Queen” told The U.S. Sun. “There are no excuses for what I did. I am deeply sorry for the pain I caused, especially to Matthew’s family.”
In September, the 42-year-old pleaded guilty to five counts in L.A., including distributing ketamine — a dissociative anesthetic and controlled substance — resulting in death or bodily injury. According to prosecutors, she had been selling drugs for years out of her North Hollywood apartment and counted the Friends star, who was found dead in his jacuzzi at his Pacific Palisades home on Oct. 28, 2023, as a customer. (His death was attributed to acute effects of ketamine.) “I can’t undo the past,” Jasveen said. “But I can now respect the law.”
An insider tells Star Matthew’s loved ones are relieved that Jasveen is behind bars. (Her sentence is significantly longer than those given to two doctors who also supplied the drug; two other cases are pending.)
“They believe they’ve saved some lives by being part of the investigation,” adds the insider, noting that the family intends to continue to support people dealing with addiction issues through the Matthew Perry Foundation. “Matthew’s mother, in particular, is determined to make sure that Matthew’s death means something a lot bigger than just some actor who died because of a drug problem.”
