Jennifer Aniston is still grieving the loss of her beloved Friends co-star, Matthew Perry, according to a source.
“She [Aniston] talks about Matthew all the time, and she’s clearly still in the middle of the grieving process,” an insider tells Star. “She says she misses him every day.”
“This isn’t something that goes away with a couple of intense therapy sessions,” the insider explained. “Jen admits that she’s still learning to live with the loss of Matthew, and it still feels like it happened yesterday.”
Perry passed away in October 2023 at 54 years old from the acute effects of ketamine.

The source shared that the 56-year-old Golden Globe award-winning actress, who portrayed Rachel Green on the ’90s sitcom, had a “special bond” with Perry, who portrayed Chandler Bing, as they “were the youngest members of the Friends cast.”
However, the Just Go With It actress has been reportedly keeping herself busy with her hit Apple TV+ series The Morning Show “as a way of coping with the loss,” per the insider.
The source also said Aniston is focused on finding a way to honor the 17 Again star.
“Jen has been through a lot and deep down, she is also all about moving forward, and getting to some kind of positive result,” the source said. “She says she wants to help preserve Matthew’s memory, and you can expect that to take shape, possibly as a documentary, as soon as the criminal case around Matthew’s death is fully resolved.”
In June 2024, Aniston shed some tears over Perry during a conversation with Abbott Elementary’sQuinta Brunson for Variety’s Actors on Actors segment. A producer asked Brunson to pose the question, “What’s it like to watch Friends now?” which made Aniston instantly tear up.
After Perry’s passing, Aniston posted a heartfelt tribute to him on Instagram.
“Oh boy this one has cut deep… Having to say goodbye to our Matty has been an insane wave of emotions that I’ve never experienced before,” she admitted in the post’s caption.
“He was such a part of our DNA. We were always the 6 of us,” Aniston penned, referring to her four other Friends co-stars, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, and Matt LeBlanc. “This was a chosen family that forever changed the course of who we were and what our path was going to be.”
“Matty, I love you so much and I know you are now completely at peace and out of any pain,” she added. “I talk to you every day… sometimes I can almost hear you saying ‘could you BE any crazier?'”
