An air ambulance was dispatched to late rocker Ozzy Osbourne’s home in Buckinghamshire, England, shortly before his death.

On Wednesday, July 23, Thames Valley Air Ambulance confirmed that they provided “advanced critical care at an incident near Chalfont St Giles yesterday” in a statement to the Daily Mail.

A neighbor also witnessed the aircraft land in a field near the property on Tuesday morning, July 22.

“I went out to have a look and saw that it was landing close to Ozzy’s house,” a local told the outlet. “All of us were talking about it and wondering what had happened. We immediately feared it may be for him as he was known to be in fragile health.”

“When we heard later that night that he had died it confirmed our worst fears,” added the resident.

The medical team was reportedly at his home for roughly two hours and they left early that afternoon.

As Star previously reported, Osbourne’s family announced the heavy metal icon’s passing in a joint statement shared on Tuesday.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” the statement read. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

He was battling Parkinson’s disease at the time of his death and had lost the ability to walk.

That same day, fans and music legends swiftly flooded social media with tributes to the Prince of Darkness.

“Very sad 2 hear of @ozzyosbourne sudden passing,” Billy Idol wrote via Instagram. “I’m so glad that I could be part of his solo induction into the @rockhall last October that I got to honor his achievements in the light of his passing.”

Elton John shared that he was “so sad to hear the news” and called Osbourne a “dear friend and a huge trailblazer” in his own Instagram post.

The Black Sabbath singer, who was 76, passed away only a few weeks after his farewell concert in Birmingham, England.

Osbourne’s son Louis, 50, later confessed the show left him in tears and called it “an emotional end to a phenomenal 57-year career.”

“It was everything we wanted it to be and more,” he said in a July 6 post shared to his Facebook, per the Globe. “I just wanted it to be a dignified send-off for him.”

Ozzy is survived by his wife, Sharon, six children and 10 grandchildren.
