Ozzy Osbourne is dead at 76 following a lengthy health battle with Parkinson’s disease.

The heavy metal legend died “surrounded” by his loved ones on Tuesday morning, July 22.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” a statement shared by the family read. “We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

His cause of death was not specified.

Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Osbourne was no longer able to walk amid the progression of Parkinson’s disease — a diagnosis that he made public in 2020 — and complications from severe spinal injuries he’s sustained over the years.

“I have made it to 2025. I can’t walk, but you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all my complaining, I’m still alive,” he said on an installment of his SiriusXM radio show that aired earlier this year. “I may be moaning that I can’t walk, but I look down the road and there’s people that didn’t do half as much as me and didn’t make it.”

His passing comes weeks after the Black Sabbath singer closed out his decades-long career with a heartfelt final concert in front of 40,000 fans in Birmingham, England, on July 5.

Prior to the highly-anticipated farewell show, he assured listeners on an episode of  his show SiriusXM’s OZZY Speaks that he would be giving it “120 percent” despite his ongoing health concerns.

“I haven’t done any physical work for the last seven [or so] years,” he added. “By hook or by crook, I’m gonna make it there. I’ve got this trainer guy who helps people get back to normal. It’s hard going, but he’s convinced that he can pull it off for me. I’m giving it everything I’ve got.”

One day after the concert, Osbourne’s son Louis — who the Prince of Darkness welcomed with first wife Thelma Riley — took to Facebook, calling it “an emotional end to a phenomenal 57-year career.”

“I was sobbing at times. It was everything we wanted it to be and more,” he continued, per the Globe. “I had been anxious for months about this as I’ve been worried about my dad’s ability to perform with his Parkinson’s disease. I just wanted it to be a dignified send-off for him. But as soon as he started singing, we knew he was gonna nail it.”
