George Clooney doesn’t plan to lock lips with any of his costars going forward.
In an interview with the Daily Mail’sRichard Eden, published Friday, December 12, the two-time Oscar winner, 64, said he was taking a cue from late acclaimed actor Paul Newman, who reportedly once promised he wouldn’t film romantic scenes unless they were with his wife, Joanne Woodward.
“I’ve been trying to go the route Paul Newman did: ‘OK, well, I’m not kissing a girl any more,'” the ER alum declared after conversations with wifeAmal Clooney — whom he wed in 2014 — according to the outlet.

The Good Night, and Good Luck star also got candid about aging, telling the publication he can’t stop it.
“When I turned 60, I had a conversation with my wife. I said, ‘Look, I can still play basketball with the boys. I play with 25-year-old guys,'” he stated. “I can still hang, I’m in shape. But in 25 years, I’m 85 years old. It doesn’t matter how many granola bars you eat, that’s a real number.”
During a March 60 Minutes interview, the Ocean’s 11 star — who shares 8-year-old twins Alexander and Ella with Amal, 47 — relayed a similar sentiment about his career.

“Look, I’m 63 years old. I’m not trying to compete with 25-year-old leading men,” he remarked. “That’s not my job. I’m not doing romantic films anymore.”
The last rom-com the Broadway star did was Ticket to Paradise in 2022, in which he shared an onscreen kiss with Julia Roberts.
