Mickey Lee, an unforgettable contender on the most recent season of the CBS reality show Big Brother, is dead. She was 35.
“With profound sadness, the family of Mickey Lee announces her transition on Christmas in the early evening,” a statement signed by the “family and friends of Mickey C Lee” posted to her official Instagram page read.
“Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on Big Brother, where her authenticity, strength, and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike. She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed both on and off screen,” the statement continued.

The family thanked people who have offered prayers, love and support — and requested privacy as they grieve. Details for a memorial service, they said, would be announced at a later date.
“Mickey’s light, legacy, and impact will never be forgotten,” the statement concluded.
The news of Lee’s death comes after the Season 27 houseguest — who was eliminated from the competition right before the jury was determined — “suffered a series of cardiac arrests and is now in the ICU in critical but stable condition,” according to a GoFundMe.
The fundraiser was set up on Monday, December 22.

Described on the GoFundMe campaign as “a vibrant, strategic and unforgettable personality,” Lee became one of the most divisive contestants of this summer’s season of Big Brother.
Before her elimination on day 59, the event curator from Atlanta, Georgia, was said to be controlling the came by her fellow houseguests.
Ashley Hollis, an attorney from New York City, ultimately placed first in the competition.
“Mickey captured the attention of fans with her energy, authenticity, and bold gameplay,” the GoFundMe stated.
Contestant Rachel Reilly was among the first to react to Lee’s death, writing in a comment, “Sorry for your loss and my prayers for your family RIP MICKEY you are missed – love to all of you 🙏.”
