Andrew Garfield’s ‘Needy’ Behavior Threatens Romance With Monica Barbaro (Exclusive)

Andrew Garfield is at risk of losing girlfriend Monica Barbaro with his high-maintenance behavior, alleges a source.

“He can be a needy guy,” the source claims. “Every joke he tells, every outing he plans, every decision he makes — Andrew needs to feel approval. Sometimes when he and Monica are together, you can see the exhaustion written all over her face.”

Linked to the After the Hunt actor, 42, since early 2025, the Crime 101 actress, 36, finds his vulnerability increasingly more “draining,” says the source.

“The approval of the women in his life is what he lives and dies for,” shares the source. “He always gets this way when he falls in love.”

Garfield’s past romantic interests include actress Shannon Woodward, model Alyssa Miller, singer Rita Ora and spiritual reader Kate Tomas.

But as Star previously reported, he’s been the most “haunted by guilt and regret” over the end of his four-year relationship with The Amazing Spider-Man costar Emma Stone.

“The way Andrew is acting with Monica is the same way he acted with Emma,” insists the source. “This is history repeating itself, so if things go south between him and Monica, he’s going to have nobody to blame but himself.”

Whether or not they stay together, fans shouldn’t expect an update from Garfield.

“I have never, and I won’t ever, speak about or confirm or deny anything about my personal life with anyone, ever,” he told Esquire in 2024.
