Selena Gomez loves that she and her best friend, Taylor Swift, both found love at a similar point in their lives.
On Tuesday, March 3, the Only Murders in the Building actress, 33, appeared on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast hosted by her husband, Benny Blanco, along with Lil Dicky (real name: David Burd) and his wife, Kristin Batalucco.
Blanco, 37, asked the former Disney star if she and the singer-songwriter, 36, “ever sit there, and you’re just like ‘f**k, … I can’t believe this is our life now?’ From where you were?”
“It’s more so that ‘Wow we survived it as best as we could’… when we talk about it, we’re not like ‘Look at this, you know prosperity,'” Gomez explained. “It’s more so, like, ‘Actually, this is so cool that you get it.'”
“It’s absolutely unbelievable to come from 17 years of friendship, from multiple heartbreaks, and love stories, and fun stories in life,” she continued. “We both ended up, fortunately, being engaged around the same time, and that was the coolest part.”

Lil Dicky chimed in, “I just feel like you both ended up with good dudes,” to which Gomez agreed.
“I’m very lucky,” she added. “It’s cool to have a friend just like you and Benny.”
Blanco popped the question in December 2024, and he and Gomez then tied the knot in September 2025 in Santa Barbara, California, with Swift of course in attendance.
Meanwhile, the pop star got engaged to Kansas City Chiefs tight-end Travis Kelce in August 2025.
