Sean “Diddy” Combs’ has received a mixed verdict after nearly two months on trial and three days of jury deliberation.
On Wednesday, July 2, the music producer, 55, was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution – one of his ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and one for a woman only known as “Jane.” He was found not guilty of two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and one count of racketeering conspiracy.
Following the verdict, the hip hop artist’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, asked Judge Arun Subramanian that his client be released from jail and allowed to remain at his Miami home on $1 million bond until sentencing. Combs was arrested in September 2024 and has been incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since then. However, NBC News also reported that the “government” told the judge “Combs should remain in jail until sentencing.”
The court has previously denied Combs bond more than once due to concerns “no condition or combination of conditions will reasonably assure the safety of the community” if he were to be released, according to court documents obtained by People in November 2024.
A final decision has yet to be made on whether he will be released on bail.

Now that Combs has been acquitted of three charges, life in prison is no longer on the table. However, each prostitution-related charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years, so Combs could still face up to 20 years behind bars.
As Star previously reported, the 12-person jury reached a partial verdict on Tuesday, July 1, on four of the five counts. The jury was split on the racketeering charge and could not reach a unanimous decision that day as some members reportedly had “unpersuadable” opinions on the matter.
