Sean “Diddy” Combs was denied bond and is set to remain in jail until his sentencing.
Prior to the bail hearing, Star can confirm that Combs’ ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura‘s legal counsel sent Judge Arun Subramanian a letter requesting that they deny him bail as Ventura believes he is “likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified in this case, including herself, as well as to the community.”
Star can also confirm that Combs, 55, sent his own letter pleading to be released until the date of his sentencing hearing.

As Star previously reported, Combs was taken into police custody in September 2024 and was later charged with one count of racketeering conspiracy, two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion. The music producer pleaded not guilty and has been jailed at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, since his arrest.
His trial began in May and included 34 witness testimonies – including one from Ventura, who claimed she felt “scared” and “trapped” during their relationship as she accused of him physical abuse, coercion and other crimes while on the stand.
On Tuesday, July 1, the jury reached a partial verdict, but they were deadlocked on the RICO charge. However, on Wednesday, July 2, they found him guilty on only two of five counts – transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of the racketeering and sex trafficking-related charges.
Despite escaping a potential life sentence, Diddy still faces considerable time in prison. Each charge comes with a maximum sentence of 10 years, making it possible for him to face 20 years behind bars. However, BBCreported that the prosecution’s letter to the judge said the “guidelines range” was between “51 and 63 months imprisonment,” meaning it may be more likely Combs could receive somewhere between a 4 and 5 1/2 year sentence.
