Jon Gosselin is trimming the tree and hanging the holly in preparation for his son Collin’s Christmas return. The single dad was just granted custody of his trouble son after mom Kate skipped their court hearing. “I’m excited to have a male around,” he said about his excitement for Collin, 14, to come home. He currently lives with daughter Hannah, who moved in with him earlier in the year. The other sextuplets — Aaden, Joel, Alexis, and Leah — plus 18-year-old twins Mady and Cara all live with Kate.

“I’m constantly surrounded by 14-year-old girls!” Jon joked about Hannah and her friends.

Collin is just as excited to join his dad. “He wanted to live with me,” Jon told Us. As for Hannah, “She wants her brother to come home!”

“He's really excited and we're really excited to have him home for the holidays,” Jon told

Jon continued, “He's really excited and we're really excited to have him home for the holidays and to enjoy the rest of his childhood.” He said Collin “will be with us indefinitely.”

Though Jon and Kate, 43, divorced in 2009, their custody battle rages on. “I've been fighting for 10 years and I will keeping fighting for as long as I have to,” Jon said, emphatically.

As for the parents’ relationship, it couldn’t be worse. “We don't communicate. We don't even text anymore. The last time I communicated with her was either through attorneys or in court,” Jon said. “It's a shame that we can't co-parent, and I know the whole world wants us too… but it just doesn't work.”
