Parents around the country are racing to buy school supplies for their kids, and that includes Jennifer Garner. The actress brought kids Seraphina, 9 and Samuel, 6, to Staples to pick out notebooks and folders for the new year. It was probably good for them to have some normalcy amid their dad Ben Affleck’s latest crisis. Last week, an emotional Jen drove him back to rehab. Samuel was repping his favorite superhero — not his dad's Batman, but Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool! Presumably his mom kept him from wearing the mask that accompanied the costume. Sadly, the Justice League actor, 46, is missing all these late summer memories as Jen drove him to rehab last week.

That was after he'd broken up with girlfriend Lindsay Shookus, who allegedly had a major problem with his drinking. Then, Ben was twice spotted with 22-year-old Playboy playmate Shauna Sexton. Ben and Jen are still legally married, and a judge threatened to dismiss their divorce if they didn't hurry it up.
