The retired British soccer pro, who is married to Victoria Beckham, 51, was knighted by King Charles, 76, on November 4. The couple’s new titles are “Sir Beckham” and “Lady Beckham,” according to People.
“Arise, Sir David Beckham,” read a message on the official X account for The Royal Family alongside a video of the exciting moment. “The King presented Sir David Beckham with a Knighthood for Services to Sport and to Charity.”
In the video, Beckham kneeled in front of His Majesty at Windsor Castle during “the ceremonial dubbing of the knight” according to the website of The Royal Family, noting that the act is “One of the highest honours in the United Kingdom.”
“I can’t even begin to describe what a special day it is for me today, a boy born in East London, to receive a Knighthood from His Majesty The King,” David wrote on Instagram, dedicating the award to his parents and grandparents, along with his “beautiful wife” Victoria, “who has been by my side for the last 28 years, who has been my biggest supporter and my shoulder to cry on in tough times.”
He added, “Without her I wouldn’t have had the life I have had.”

“They are our greatest joy in life and my inspiration every single day,” David added. “I love you all so much.”
