Jennifer Aniston doesn’t talk about her ex-husband Brad Pitt often, but she made a rare reference to him during a sweet trip down memory lane this week.

The 57-year-old reunited with her former Friends costar and close friend Lisa Kudrow for the latest edition of Variety‘s Actors on Actors, released on Wednesday, June 3.

As the two reminisced about their days on the iconic sitcom, the topic of Brad’s cameo came up, and Aniston kept it short and sweet.

“When Brad was on, that was hilarious,” Kudrow, 62, told her former castmate.

“I know. How funny,” Aniston replied, before quickly pivoting to all the other A-listers who stopped by the sitcom during its 10-season run.

“The movie stars that came on Friends. Brad, Bruce Willis, Julia Roberts. Isabella Rossellini. We had so many — Sean Penn,” Aniston said.

The Morning Show star also reflected on something she always found amusing about the guest stars. “They were always nervous,” she said. “Remember? I always found it fascinating how nervous they were.”

Kudrow echoed the sentiment, noting that the sitcom format often left even the most seasoned actors second-guessing themselves.

“Yes. Nervous,” the Comeback star agreed. “Well, because what’s the tone? It’s not theater; it’s for TV. It’s not a movie. What the hell is this? And it’s a good question. And I remember someone asked one time. I didn’t know how to explain it, so I said, ‘Oh, just talk louder. Same intention, just — ‘”

“Just louder!” Aniston added with a laugh.

Pitt, 62, stole the show during the 2001 Thanksgiving episode titled “The One With the Rumor.” His character, Will Colbert, surprised viewers by revealing that he and David Schwimmer‘s Ross Geller were once members of an “I Hate Rachel” club in high school.

The episode aired while Pitt and Aniston were still a couple. They tied the knot in 2000 and split in 2005 after five years together.

Aniston recently opened up about the intense media scrutiny over their divorce in an interview with Vanity Fair in August 2025.

“I just remember the experience of doing it — which was kind of jarring,” she said.

“It was also such a vulnerable time. But yeah, that was one for the memoirs.” She continued, “Journalism back then felt more like a form of a sport. There’s obviously some PTSD we all have, which is why [interviews] scare me.”
